Qn 1. What is Electric Vehicle?

Ans1 An Electric Vehicle (EV) is a vehicle with one or more electric motors for propulsion. This is also referred to as an electric drive vehicle. The motion may be provided either by wheels or propellers driven by rotary motors, or in the case of tracked vehicles, by linear motors. Unlike an internal combustion engine (ICE) that is tuned to specifically operate with a particular fuel such as gasoline or diesel, an electric drive vehicle needs electricity, which comes from sources such as batteries or a generator.

Qn 2. How does electric vehicle work?

Ans 2.  When energy stored on board feeds by means of control system equipments Micro-Vett original, the electric motor transmits the motion directly to wheels.

Qn3. What are the environmental benefits of an Electric Vehicle?

Ans3. Even using fuel burning power generating systems there is less emission than using fuel burning vehicles.Fuels can be combusted more efficiently in controlled power plants. When you are using electricity that comes from hydroelectric systems there is very little or no emissions.
The efficiency of transferring energy from batteries to the wheels is about 70% compared to 20% with fuel burning vehicles.
The lead in batteries is permanent, compared to amounts of lead consumed in gasoline. The lead stays in the batteries until it is time for them to be replaced and 100% of the lead is recycled.

Qn 4. What are the advantages of Electric Vehicle?

Ans4. The key advantages of Electric Vehicle are;

  1. Economical
  2. Low Maintenance
  3. Low Cost
  4. Advanced technology
  5. Non-Polluting

Qn 5. How much distance is covered by the e-bike?

Ans 5. When the E-bike is fully charged (i.e.6 hrs) it will cover 70km -100kms per charge.

Qn 6. What types of wheels are used in an electric vehicle?

Ans 6. Alloy wheels

Qn 7. What is the total loading capacity of vehicle including riders?

Ans7 165kgs-195kgs

Qn 8. What is SLA battery? What is its cost, charging time and  life of the battery?

Ans 8. Sealed lead acid batteries are basically the same as flooded cell batteries. In these batteries electrolyte is in gelatin form and is absorbed into the plates. The battery is then sealed with epoxy. They are exceptionally leak resistant. These batteries which is utilized for wide variety of applications including UPS and computer systems, wheelchairs, scooters, industrial and medical equipment and more.

  • Battery cost-Rs 7200(approx.)
  • Charging time 6-8 hrs
  • Battery life- 1 yr.

Qn 9. How to charge the battery pack?

Ans9. Simply plug your battery pack into any standard 220 volt outlet using your charging cord outboard charger. You can leave the battery pack in the electric vehicle or take it out, but we recommend that you remove the battery pack if you don’t plan on using your electric vehicle for more than a week .Charging takes about 6-8 hours.

Qn 10. What is the requirement of battery for EV Application?

Ans 10. The key  requirements for EV Application are;

  1.  Light In Weight
  2. ABS Container and Cover
  3. Non-Spill able Sealed Construction
  4. Low Self-Discharge-Long Shelf Life
  5. Wide Operating Temperature Range
  6. High Recovery Capability
  7. Maintenance –Free Operation
  8. Low Pressure Venting System
  9. Battery Life Cycle
  10. Environment friendly
  11. Low Charging Time

Qn 11. What is the life cycle of the battery?

Ans 11. One cycle of a battery is discharge from full charge to full discharge and a return to full charge again. The total number of cycles a battery can perform before failure is called Cycle life.

Qn 12. What will happen if battery is overcharged?
Ans 12. No damages occur to the battery if it is overcharged because there is an automatic electronic  cutoff .

Qn 13. What kind of motor is used in electric vehicle?

Ans 13. BLDC motors have three stator windings are constructed with numerous coils interconnected to a form a winding. The motor uses electric commutator (replacing the mechanical commutator) making it more reliable than the DC motor.

Qn 14. What is throttle?

Ans 14. When you accelerate your E-bike the valve opens and it supply’s the flow of current to the vehicle.

Qn 15. What is the AH capacity & battery volt ?
Ans15. Battery -20AH,33AH
Volt- 48V (set of 4 batteries i.e.12v each)

Qn 16. What is the difference between SLA &VRLA battery ?

Ans 16.
SLA battery:-Sealed Lead Acid batteries are rechargeable battery. They have a large number of thin plates designed for maximum surface area  and therefore maximum current output.

VRLA battery:-It is rechargeable battery  which doesn’t require adding water to it .In these type of batteries  there a valve which opens due to harmful gases and prevent the battery from further damages.

Qn 17. How much capacity of motor is used?

Ans 17. 250-750watts

Qn 18. How BLDC motor is better than DC motor?

Ans 18. BLDC motor do not use brushes for commutation, instead they are electronically commuted.
BLDC motor have many advantages over DC motor such as;

  1. Better speed
  2. High dynamic response
  3. High efficiency
  4. Long operating life
  5. Noiseless operation
  6. Higher speed ranges
